Process

To write well for you I must come to know you well. For this reason my process begins with conversation. We'll talk about your business, its mission, goals and objectives. Your values. We'll talk about what drives your passion for your business and the messaging you want me to effectively convey.

I will learn the core of the value you wish for me to portray from you. Next we collect all available assets. Prior documents created to convey this message, notes from meetings, discussions with other people in your organization who also have a stake in this message. Once collected I may have questions about some of them.

Next I deliver a map of what this document will say and how it will develop your message in a way that will bring your audience along with it to arrive enthusiastically at your call to action. Once you approve the map I create the first full draft and submit it to you at a date and time agreed upon at the start. We discuss any changes you'd like to see and I keep tuning until you are thoroughly excited about the content we've developed.

Price

Personally I prefer predictability. For this reason I will almost always offer to quote you a fixed fee for your project so you can budget it precisely and know there can be no surprises for the duration of the work we do together. For certain projects where deliverables are not as well defined and duration cannot be predicted I offer very reasonable hourly rates and will provide as close an estimate up front as is practical.

Persuasion

The heart of my writing is persuasion. Every corporate, commercial or other business message must persuade to be successful. Persuasion is accomplished by clearly demonstrating to your audience that you thoroughly understand their concerns, their values, and their needs, and give compelling evidence that your solution fulfills them all in a fashion above and beyond that available anywhere else.
